REMUNERATION

Basic Salary: $3,501,526.00-4,709,163.00 per annum

JOB SUMMARY:

Summary:           Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the incumbent will ensure that Nutrition Products Limited produces and distributes good quality and nutritious products.

  • Products monitored for weight, texture, colour taste, eye appeal and temperature
  • Processed products hygienically stored
  • Sanitation of Plant monitored

  • Quality assurance audits conducted

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Management/ Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development and monitoring of the Department’s budget, operational and work plans and programmes 

Technical/Professional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all raw materials are of the standard required to produce good quality and nutritious products by planning, executing, and overseeing inspection and testing of products to confirm quality conformance to specifications and quality deliverables
  • Ensure that stipulated formulae are adhered to.
  • Monitor all products and systems involved in processing for – weight, texture, colour, taste, eye appeal and temperature.
  • Ensure that a standard procedure for packing, to maintain quality, is maintained.
  • Ensure that processed goods are stored and dispatched under hygienic conditions in all plants.
  • Ensure that quality standards are adhered to in all plants (Kingston, Petersfield, and Annotto Bay) through periodic site visits
  • Monitor the sanitation of all plants to ensure that sanitary conditions exist in and around the plant.
  • Conduct spot checks, on a regular basis, of delivery vehicles on route to schools to ensure that hygienic conditions are maintained
  • Assist with developing a plan of action to improve product quality and increase variety.
  • Monitor and address customer complaints or in-house problems with product quality
  • Communicate with management and other team members when problems arise and recommend possible solutions to correct any mistakes during production
  • Assess quality assurance strategies to determine best practices and improvements
  • Perform internal quality assurance audits that are compliant with the Company’s policies and procedures
  • Visit schools to obtain feedback on the preferences of the students as related to products distributed so as to assist in the production of the appropriate mix

  • Production schedules are in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Products monitored for weight, texture, colour taste, eye appeal and temperature are completed within established timeline and are in compliant with the Company and industry standards
  • Processed products hygienically stored in accordance with the Company and industry standards
  • Sanitation of Plant monitored in keeping with established standards and timeframe
  • Spot checks conducted in keeping with established guidelines
  • Quality assurance strategies assessed in keeping with established guidelines

Working Conditions:

  • Frequently travels to school and Plants in order to identify and address problems/complaints.
  • May be required to work long hours
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Food Technology or equivalent qualification
  • Training/Certification in Quality Control processes
  • Two (2) years’ experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
