Plant Engineer

The candidate will be responsible for the general maintenance of the Plant's machinery and equipment

• Knowledge of:
  • Manufacturing equipment and industrial maintenance
  • Ammonia systems
  • Occupational Health and Safety practices;
  • Project Management or computerized maintenance system would be an asset.
  • AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Commercial cold rooms and industrial aircondition systems
  • Electrical control systems PLC trouble shooting
  • Ability to trouble shoot electrical systems.
  • Ability to lead and retain a productive, motivated team.
  • Flexible to 24/7 on call and travelling.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills, people and communications skills.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Schedule and monitor maintenance programs of refrigeration systems to prevent downtime. Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities; identify equipment maintenance needs; record equipment readings and maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance and schedules

2. Conduct daily plant checks - Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment failure. Diagnose, troubleshoot, update and repair malfunctioning plant equipment; maintain, repair and overhaul plant equipment including blowers, pumps and motors, compressors, belt press, valves, drive units, hydraulic control units, chlorinators, chemical feeders, pneumatic equipment and hydraulic pressure systems.

3. Maintain data log in CMMS including maintaining records of plant function readings and equipment history; 

4. Assist with installation of machinery and equipment.

5. Assist with any Maintenance projects.

6. Perform routine mechanical, electrical, maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, and replacement parts.

7. Conduct performance tests of plant equipment using tachometers, pressure gauges, flowmeter, amp and volt meters.

8. Perform pipefitting; install and repair air and hydraulic piping systems.
