Mixologist

Prepare, mix and serve beverages correctly to either customer directly or through serving staff and to provide warm and friendly customer service that contributes to the overall customer experience as well as adhering to and promoting responsible service of alcohol.

Mixes and responsibly serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to Guests in the bar area and through the service bar, to Guests in the dining room.

All beverages are prepared according to recipes, standards, and procedures. Responsible for serving food to the Guests dining in the bar area.

Responsible for meeting specific sales performance objectives as determined, communicated and measured by management on a daily basis.Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Greets customers and presents beverage menus
• Makes recommendations and answers all related inquiries
• Checks identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age
• Takes orders from serving staff or directly from customers
• Records drink orders accurately into POS system
• Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
• Peels, slices and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
• Serves snacks to customers seated at the bar
• Up sells drinks and menu items to customers
• Responds promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion
• Attempts to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures
• Processes payment  transactions using the POS system
• Arranges glasses and bottles into attractive and functional displays
• Ensures clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas
• Complies with all Health, Safety and Hygiene standards and policies
• Balances the cash register at the start and close of each shift
• Monitors inventory to ensure that bar is stocked to meet daily demands
• Alerting Bar Supervisor to order and restock bar inventory
• Performs other duties that may be required to enhance the operation of the Company
• Refrains from illegally furnishing intoxicating beverages to the Guests as defined by the responsible Serving Statement Policy.
• Bar and restaurant Guests’ drink orders are filled quickly (within two minutes) and according to recipes, standards, and procedures.
• Bar service will be conducted in a way designed to create new business and avoid guest complaints and prevent illegal or irresponsible alcohol service.
•  Mixologists are accountable for the accurate payment and balancing of the cash drawer used during their shift.
• Daily/weekly bar inventories must correspond with bar cash totals.
• Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance to Trinidad and Tobago Public Health Department standards for Food Service Employees.

Qualification Standards:

• Walks and stands during entire shift.
• Must reach, bend, stoop, shake, stir, wipe, sweep/mop, and carry.
• Lifts thirty pound cases about ten times per shift. Carries same cases short distances (ten to fifty feet).
• Interacts verbally with Guests.
• Frequent immersion of hands in water and cleaning or sanitizing solutions. Frequent hand washing.
• Frequent immersion of hands into freezer and handling of frozen glassware.
• Able to operate a cash register and accurately make change.
• Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, and burns.
