JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and driven Medical Sales Representative to join our team, specializing in oncology brands. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in the public sector and a deep understanding of the formulary and tender processes. This role involves promoting and selling oncology products to healthcare professionals and institutions, with a focus on navigating the public healthcare system to maximize market access and drive sales growth.

LOCATION: 

Country-wide 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to promote oncology products to healthcare professionals and institutions within the private and public sector.
  • Conducts informative presentations and educational sessions on oncology brands for oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team to organize and participate in workshops, conferences, and seminars aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of oncology products.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders in the private and public healthcare system, including hospital administrators, procurement officers, and formulary committee members.
  • Effectively navigates the formulary inclusion process to ensure the company’s oncology products are listed and accessible within public healthcare facilities.
  • Leads the preparation and submission of tender documents and proposals for public sector procurement.
  • Monitors market trends, competitor activities, and changes in public sector policies that could impact product access and sales.
  • Provides market intelligence and feedback to the management team to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop tailored strategies that address the unique needs of the public sector.
  • Ensures all sales activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies, particularly concerning interactions with public sector entities.
  • Maintains detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market insights.
  • Prepares and submits regular reports on sales performance, tender outcomes, and market conditions. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences or medical field including Pharmacy. 

Experience/Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 2 years in oncology or a related therapeutic area.
  • Proven experience working with the public healthcare sector in Trinidad & Tobago, including knowledge of the formulary and tender processes.
  • Strong understanding of oncology products and the local healthcare environment. 

Skills:

  • Self-motivated and committed to driving sales.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Positive attitude, values and work ethic.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and applications especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, facilitating data analysis, reporting and communication.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare professionals and public sector stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must own a motor vehicle with valid driver’s license.
  • Be willing and able to travel extensively when required.
  • Be willing and able to work outside of standard work hours, including weekends.
