Title: Marketing Manager – Retail

Location: Giftland Group, Giftland Mall – Guyana

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive store traffic, enhance brand visibility, and increase customer engagement. This position oversees marketing initiatives across various channels, manages cross-marketing efforts, and collaborates with internal and external partners to achieve business objectives. The Marketing Manager plays a key role in analyzing market trends, optimizing marketing campaigns, and creating an exceptional customer experience to support the company’s growth goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies that increase foot traffic and boost in-store sales.
    • Design cross-marketing initiatives to leverage partnerships and internal business units, enhancing customer reach and engagement.
    • Align marketing objectives with business goals and adjust strategies based on performance metrics and evolving market trends.
  2. Store Traffic Generation
    • Devise and execute campaigns specifically aimed at driving store traffic, including events, promotions, and local advertising.
    • Utilize geo-targeted digital marketing strategies, in-store events, and loyalty programs to attract more visitors to physical location.
    • Collaborate with the retail team to create in-store experiences that encourage repeat visits and enhance customer loyalty.
  3. Cross-Marketing and Partnerships
    • Develop and manage cross-promotional strategies with other departments or concessions within the store to create synergy and maximize customer value.
    • Partner with external brands and local businesses for co-branded campaigns and events that broaden market reach.
    • Oversee the creation of joint promotional materials and ensure brand alignment with partners.
  1. Digital Marketing and Content Management
    • Lead digital marketing efforts, including social media, email, SEO, to increase online visibility and drive in-store traffic.
    • Develop and oversee content strategies across platforms, including website posts, social media updates, newsletters, and advertisements.
  2. Market Research and Analysis
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
    • Analyze data from campaigns and store traffic patterns to assess effectiveness and inform future marketing strategies.
  3. Budget Management
    • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring high ROI and efficiency for all marketing activities.
    • Monitor spending and adjust allocations as necessary to maximize store traffic and engagement.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with sales, product development, and customer service teams to align on goals and integrate marketing efforts.
    • Work with external agencies and vendors to support and execute cross-marketing campaigns effectively.
  5. Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging professional growth.
    • Assign responsibilities and provide feedback to ensure effective execution of marketing strategies.
  6. Customer Engagement and Relationship Management
    • Develop engagement strategies to create a positive in-store experience and build long-term relationships.
    • Use customer feedback to inform and improve marketing initiatives, especially those targeting store traffic.
  7. Event Planning and Execution
    • Plan and manage events that promote store visits, including seasonal promotions, product launches, and partnerships.
    • Coordinate logistics, budgeting, and post-event analysis to optimize impact and identify improvement areas.
  8. Reporting and Presentation
    • Prepare and present reports on marketing activities, store traffic, and cross-marketing outcomes to senior management.
    • Share insights, campaign performance, and strategic recommendations with stakeholders.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages the marketing department.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing / business management or related field.
  • Five (5) subjects at CXC inclusive Mathematics and English.

Experiences:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar position.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary and Benefits are based on Giftland existing salary scheme, and benefits are in accordance with the laws of Guyana and the policies of Giftland. These are all provided for in the Contract of employment.
