We’re looking for a Manager, IT Support to oversee our IT support operations, ensuring seamless technology solutions and top-notch service for our organization. If you have strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a drive for continuous improvement, we want you on our team!

Overview

The Manager, IT Support will lead and supervise a team of System Administrators, including the Helpdesk staff, to ensure the seamless operation and support of our IT infrastructure across multiple sites in a hybrid environment. Reporting directly to the AVP, IT Support, this role encompasses team leadership, vendor management, and the handling of technical escalations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with both cloud and on-premise infrastructure, including Azure and AWS resources, and a strong understanding of backup, Identity and Access Management, Asset Management, Virtualization technologies, and security controls.

 

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor System Administrators and Helpdesk staff, ensuring high levels of performance and professional growth.
  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day IT support operations, prioritizing and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address issues, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities and knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues promptly to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Handle and resolve complex technical issues escalated by the IT support team.
  • Provide expert guidance on troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments to address and resolve cross-functional issues.

Vendor Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues promptly to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Technical Escalations

  • Handle and resolve complex technical issues escalated by the IT support team.
  • Provide expert guidance on troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
  • Collaborate with other IT departments to address and resolve cross-functional issues.

Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the management of both cloud and on-premise infrastructure, ensuring reliability and security.
  • Manage backup processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Implement and maintain robust Identity and Access Management protocols.
  • Ensure accurate Asset Management to keep track of IT resources and expenditures.
  • Utilize Virtualization technologies to optimize resource utilization and efficiency.
  • Manage security controls to protect the company’s IT assets and data from threats.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support or a related role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
  • The following (or other relevant) certifications would provide a distinct advantage:
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Server+
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA A+
    • Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 Linux Administrator.
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate.
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
    • Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate
  • Proficiency in managing both Azure and AWS resources.
