This is a permanent role based in San Fernando.

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager Human Resources develops and delivers the Human Resource strategy, builds HR capability and provides professional HR advice to Management.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop annual HR Plan and HR budget in conjunction with the COO Finance and Administration.
  • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business objectives and delegate responsibilities to HR staff by managing the entire HR Change Process.
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management regarding key organizational and management issues. Coach and advise managers and supervisors to implement HR programmes, policies and employee relations practices that continuously improve employee performance and motivation
  • Work with the company's executive management team and other key stakeholders, e.g. Co-ordinators, to establish succession plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to hire and retain an effective workforce that meets the needs of the organization and its clients.
  • Oversee the mass recruitment process including attracting, selecting and onboarding new talent as per the Client contractual arrangement.
  • Conduct employee on-boarding programs in a timely manner and utilize the human resource information system to maintain employee records.
  • Provide analytical reports to management to aid in decision making on work assignments, talent, quantity and quality of workforce.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective.
  • Develop and maintain a manual of policies and standards for HR functions and core activities of the business.
  • Establish performance evaluation systems suitable to assess each employee category and manage the performance evaluation process.
  • Work with internal stakeholders e.g. Quality Assurance, to build and maintain employee capability to effectively support customer needs.
  • Establish effective systems to provide HR services to employees including those assigned to clients.
  • Review and approve management recommendations for performance improvement and/or progressive discipline for poor performing employees
  • Keep abreast of developments in employment law and HR trends and recommend best-practices necessary to continuously improve the organization’s HR strategies and policies
  • Lead projects and process-improvement initiatives to continuously improve HR’s effectiveness in areas such as process efficiency, cost control and risk management.
  • Assist Staff in HR Department in handling difficult or complex problems, and in investigating escalated complaints, disputes or queries. Discuss, evaluate and document job performance of direct reports and provide guidance in resolving performance issues.
  • Other duties and responsibilities which are incidental or consequential to the above and which may be assigned from time to time

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field
  • Certification such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR would be an asset.
  • Experience in a Projectised, Contract Services Management environment.
  • At least ten (10) years of strategic human resource management experience with seven (7) of them being in a senior management position.
