The role of the Manager - Health Services is to ensure that the services and health promotion and health education programmes offered by the Heart Foundation of Jamaica are of excellent quality, meet regulatory requirements, and enjoy the confidence and goodwill of the local, regional and international communities which HFJ serves. This position forms part of the senior management team of the Foundation who are responsible for the overall operation of the Foundation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), s/he will play a significant leadership role in planning, directing, coordinating and managing the delivery of health care services at HFJ. S/he is expected to ensure the efficient management of health services and policy implementation in this regard.

Qualification and Requirements

• Registered Nurse - Registered with the Nursing Council of Jamaica
• A Master’s Degree is strongly preferred
• Experience in an acute clinical setting
• Experience/qualifications in ICU, A&E or OT would be an asset
• Management experience preferably in a health-related setting
• Have good written and oral communication skills
• Possess excellent organizational skills and be able to work on own initiative.
• Be proficient in the use of computer applications (emphasis on Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, social media).  Knowledge of medical records and other related health software will be an asset.
• Possess critical analysis skills.
• Be an experienced strategist, innovator and executor who will contribute to the leadership, management and growth of the organization; adept at synthesizing information, building stakeholder trust and making sound decisions.
• Be capable of managing time efficiently and of multi-tasking effectively while demonstrating strong leadership skills.
