Maintenance Technician – Grade 2
Under the guidance of the Building Supervisor, the incumbent will be a part of the Operations Team with responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient completion of technical tasks including electrical, mechanical, plumbing works on assigned properties.
Position Summary:
- Ensure the efficient assessment, monitoring, operation, testing and preventative maintenance of assigned building systems
- Perform preventative maintenance activities and recommend and initiate corrective measures
- Timely and accurate testing and recording (reporting where necessary) of building equipment performance variables
- Ensure the proper use, storage and servicing of maintenance tools and equipment
- Acknowledge and clarify tenant complaints/reports, then delivers appropriate service within the designated timelines
- Provide technical hands-on training, guidance and support to junior team members
- Provide oversight on the activities of contractors and other third party agents
- Continuously research and apply emerging systems, processes and procedural trends in facilities management
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- HEART/NSTA Trust Level 3 certification or its equivalent in either the electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, plumbing & joinery disciplines OR Accredited Diploma/ Associate Degree from a recognized institution in the above or parallel disciplines
- Minimum of two (2) years hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, air conditioning, plumbing and joinery
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Highly reliable, service oriented and team player who is able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with stakeholders including team members, tenants and third-party contractors
- Critical thinker with excellent troubleshooting skills
