Our client is a well-established local Renewable Energy EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor located on the island of Barbados. They specialize in the engineering, procurement, construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy systems, bringing extensive expertise and experience to the forefront of sustainable energy solutions in the Caribbean region.
They are seeking a Maintenance Planner who will become a strong contributor and make a significant impact on their operations. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of renewable energy systems through planning, scheduling, parts procurement, and training coordination while upholding safety and operational standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level.
- Manage spare parts inventory and alignment between the maintenance department and warehouse.
- Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Train employees on how to use the CMMS.
- Coordinate plant-wide shutdowns.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on trends in system performance.
- Coordinate the installation and maintenance of equipment in the most efficient manner.
- Liaise with sub-contractors on project and maintenance-related activities and provide periodic training/guidance on troubleshooting methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to establish and maintain quality assurance standards.
- Recommend strategies for the efficient operation of the maintenance department, including implementing projects and budget modifications.
- Generate estimates for maintenance activities related to work orders.
- Communicate with customers regarding the status of work orders, billing information, and required upgrades.
- Ensure materials are prepared in advance for work orders.
- Liaise with manufacturers regarding equipment failures.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Associate degree or diploma with 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, electrical, technical, information and communications technology (ICT), or related environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, vendors, craft experts, and management.
- Proven safety compliance, including safety inspections and using various tools.
- Ability to manage workloads in a positive, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Technical proficiency in CMMS, facilities software, and the ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
- Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques for performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of distributed generation solar PV systems would be an asset.
- A valid driver's license.
