Our client, the leading aggregates producer in Jamaica, is looking for a results-driven Maintenance Manager with sound credentials in resource and capability planning, to ensure the company’s assets and services maximize uptime and service reliability.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Maintenance Manager is required to develop, implement and manage tactical initiatives that facilitate proper utilization and deliver the consistent efficiency improvement required, while monitoring risks, budgets, and that milestones are being met. The individual appointed will need to:
§Bring effective maintenance management across Plants under a common standard.
- Direct department operations with a structured policy for preventative and predictive maintenance, equipment inspections, maintenance history, performance monitoring, running and emergency repairs.
- Utilize CMMS; partner with Procurement/Stores on evaluating/managing critical component spares inventory.
- Provide leadership, guidance, training and development to cultivate a motivated and effective maintenance workforce.
- Adhere to HSE policies, practices and procedures and promote a culture of safety across the team.
- Maintain a network of healthy stakeholder relationships with service providers and contractors.
Preferred Profile
- BSc Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering; at least 6-8 years’ solid technical, senior level managerial experience, preferably gained in cement, aggregates or in a multi-site situation.
- Extensive working knowledge of crushers, screen vibrators and conveyor systems, troubleshooting hydraulic systems and electrical schematics, together with a demonstrated understanding of complex parts and mechanical equipment.
- Computer savvy, comfortable with CMMS/relevant software; SAP experience strongly desired.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, a strong track record of preventative maintenance planning, managing conflicting priorities and quality decisions in a fast-paced company.
- Sound people management skills, a recognized ability to collaborate with, motivate and develop cohesive teams, to align tactics and resources to deliver on targets.
- A confident communicator, with proven negotiating skills, unquestioned integrity, highly responsive to issues, whose technical competence must be matched by strong management skills.
