Maintenance Manager

Job Summary

To oversee all installation, repair, service and maintenance activities within the G.R.A.D.S Group of Companies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To conduct regular site visits and inspections at the various organization’s sites to detect and resolve issues
• To supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations
• To track maintenance costs and make recommendations on minimizing same
• To create and implement preventative maintenance schedules and procedures
• To source and evaluate repair cost estimates for approval
• To build and consistently evaluate a pool/database of reliable and “preferred” external service providers
• To evaluate the work done by external service providers and make the appropriate recommendations where necessary

• Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in a clean and hygienic condition
• Train and supervise employees of the maintenance department
• Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.)

• Manage relationships with contractors and service provider
• Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
• Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities by workers
• Maintain maintenance logs and report on daily activities
• Prepare maintenance reports for Senior Management (monthly)
• To ensure that all sites adhere to minimum occupational health and safety standards
  
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Certification in Facilities/Property Management from an accredited institution
• An understanding of the technical aspects plumbing, electrical and carpentry systems
• Certification on Project Management would be an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite / Computer Literacy
• At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role
• Flexibility in accommodating extended working hours
• Must have a valid Drivers Permit – Heavy T preferred
