Reporting to:

Executive Chairman / General Manager

Location:

Head Office - Arouca

 

 

Job Summary:

 

The incumbent will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, in order to improve the profitability and competitiveness of the entire G.R.A.D.S Group. He / she will also be responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing Marketing Plans for the entire Group of Companies, with activities geared towards enhancing the different brands within the Group.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • To set business development targets, define strategies to achieve these targets and implement the set strategies promptly to deliver expected results.
  • To acquire new projects/contracts and bids as well as develop winning proposals to clients.
  • To manage the sales process by developing, negotiating and closing out contracts and hand over new jobs to the operations team for execution.
  • To manage the tendering process – from bidding, attending pre-tender meetings, submissions and signing contract papers etc.
  • To manage, support and supervise the tendering committee and ensure all members are clear on their individual roles and responsibilities and meets expected results.
  • To provide mentoring for the tendering committee and develop a mentoring plan to accomplish same.
  • To research and analyze new business opportunities by developing and leveraging on both new and existing relationships.
  • To identify areas for improvement in product offerings, sales tactics, marketing strategy and promotional activities. 
  • To work closely with the Marketing Team towards establishing/maintaining potential/current client relationships.
  • To assess the company’s target market and industry and develop strategies to gain new clients.

 

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from a recognized, accredited institution
  • At least 8 years' experience in Marketing, five (5) of which should be at a Managerial level
  • Proven work experience in New Business Development role
  • Excellent networking and business acquisition skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

 

Working Conditions:

  • May require working additional hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • Will involve attendance at social events held by the Company and its clients
  • May involve making public appearances on behalf of the Group
