The Mechanical Field Engineer with a minimum of (8) years experience is responsible for providing engineering/operational support, technical advice and leadership in executing projects according to planned schedules and defined project scopes.

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Field Engineer is responsible for providing engineering/operational support, technical advice and leadership in executing projects according to planned schedules and defined project scopes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Function in the capacity of lead and main technical advisor on project site(s) for sub-contractors and craft personnel; as well as act as direct liaison between home office and the site.
  • Coordinate technical issues and project interfaces to ensure effective and efficient operation and control.
  • Coordinate the preparation of project schedule, cash flow projection and project ‘S’ curve throughout the life of the project and prepare updates with comparison with actual versus projected with schedule updates and analysis.
  • Monitor the progress of projects and take appropriate action(s) to address any deviations from schedules, specifications and/or quality standards.

 Key Competencies/Required Knowledge:

  • Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings, P&IDs and Piping Isometrics.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Start Up Safety Review Processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Permitting Process (es).
  • Knowledge of QA/QC requirements and documentation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the activities required for project close out for successful project completion.
  • Strong command of MS Projects and/ or Primavera software.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and databases.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Sc. Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Integrated).
  • Professional Certification in Project Management.
  • Demonstrated competence and/or competencies normally acquired over a minimum of eight    (8)       years experience in the oil and gas/process plant industry OR
  • Fifteen (15) years relevant experience as a Senior Technician in oil and gas/process plant industry with a Mechanical Engineering Technician’s Diploma.
