Job Summary: The Loss Prevention and Security Officer ensures a safe and secure environment for customers and employees. Their primary responsibilities will include loss prevention, shrink mitigation, regular patrolling, and monitoring surveillance systems to ensure the safety and security of the premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loss Prevention: Enforce loss prevention strategies to minimize theft, protect company assets, and mitigate against shrinkage.
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor surveillance cameras and systems to detect suspicious activities or behaviours.
  • Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, both inside and outside, to ensure safety and security for all individuals on-site, including the safe apprehension of offenders when warranted.
  • Incident Reporting: Document and report any security incidents, safety hazards, or unusual activities to management on time. Prepare detailed reports of incidents and observations and assist with investigations as needed.
  • Internal and External Customer Service: Provide excellent internal and external customer service while assisting employees and customers.
  • Customer and Employee Safety: Foster a secure environment for customers and staff by being approachable and vigilant, addressing safety concerns proactively.
  • Company policies and procedures: Follow and enforce all company policies and procedures for various initiatives, including fire prevention, property patrols, and accident investigations.

Requirements:

  • Four 4 CXC passes, including Mathematics and English, are required.
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in security, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Proficient in surveillance equipment and security systems.
  • Strong retail operations understanding and ability to think critically and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent observational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
