Logistics and Shipping Coordinator

We are looking for a competent Logistics and Shipping Coordinator to temporarily facilitate the Export Container Coordination and Supply Chain operations of our company.

Responsibilities - 

• Negotiation of freight rates, container availability, transit times and communicate the best option to Management.
• Coordinate and monitor timely EXPORT Shipments, container requests based on Export customer needs
• Utilize IT System to track movements of shipments and notify/update Export customers or Export Sales manager
• Communicate internally with departments and externally with customers on documentation via email and Originals via Courier
• Plan and track the shipment of imports and exports
• Keep logs and records of executed orders, freight rates etc.
• Prepare accurate reports for upper management as needed
• Prepare Caricom invoices

Requirements and skills - 

• Proven experience as logistics and shipping coordinator, preferably working in a shipping/ shipping agent company
• Knowledge of shipping procedures, Customs documents
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
• Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of MS Software
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field,
• Customs Grade 2 -an asset
• Bilingual Spanish/English- an asset
• Owner of a reliable car- an asset
• Grade 1 customs Certification - an asset
