To work with the Employee Relations Team to ensure that Industrial Relations matters are dealt with fairly, within the constraints of the collective agreements and the Law.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES:
• Assist in resolving conflicts before they reach the stage of grievance procedure
• Handle Attendance issues within the organisation
• Assist with disciplinary matters within the organisation, i.e. investigations, hearings, and issuing of warnings, suspensions
etc.
• Assist with Grievances at the level of the Union executive
• Attend matters at the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Court, and the Registration, Recognition and Certification Board
(RR&CB)
• Sit in investigations and hearings at all stages of the Grievance procedure
• Sit in negotiations for all agreements
• Sit on Health and Safety and Joint Consultative Works Committees within the plants
• Perform any other related functions consequential and incidental to the position
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:
• Five (5) CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
• A Certificate in Industrial Relations
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
• At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar position
• Sound time management, critical thinking and people skills
• Excellent communication skills
