The Kitchen Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Kitchen Production Workers and overseeing the day to day running of the kitchen, including, food safety, cleaning the equipment, completion of daily assignments, quality reviews, checking supplies, and rotating food stock.

The Kitchen Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of Kitchen Production Workers and overseeing the day to day running of the kitchen, including, food safety, cleaning the equipment, completion of daily assignments, quality reviews, checking supplies, and rotating food stock.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervises and coordinates the activities of the kitchen production workers. Is engaged in preparing, assembling, packaging, and shipping ready-to-eat food items.
• Checks inventories and informs the Kitchen Manager of raw materials, packaging items and any other supplies needed for the operation. Places orders in a timely manner, so as not to disrupt operational requirements.
• Prescribes quantities, production sequence, and time for items to be prepared, cooked, assembled, and packaged to meet production schedule. Conducts regular follow-ups during the shift to ensure that production goals are on schedule and achieved.
• Specifies arrangement of equipment, workstations, and staffing to prepare for production. Completion of daily checklists by station will be needed.
• Explains and demonstrates work methods to train employees to establish correct food portions.
• In conjunction with the Kitchen Manager and Deli Coordinator, develops new products / recipes for special seasons or new lines of products.
• Assists with the receiving and storage of goods ordered. Keeps constant communication with team members, to ensure enough stock for the operations with minimum spoilage
• Manages and troubleshoots equipment repairs and related paperwork, by following company standards for reporting maintenance problems.
• Responsible for weekly stock inventory of tools assigned to production area, documenting on resources provided.
• Responsible for monthly or bimonthly stock inventory of raw materials and products prepared, documenting on resources provided
• Performs any other job-related duties requested by management. Communicates goals/objectives to all employees and rewards positive performance.
• Trains employees using company prescribed tools and techniques for all positions.
• Trains employees in the execution of new products, following the proper procedures.
• Manages employee relations issues in a timely manner.
• Ensures positive workplace practices to promote employee engagement and retention.
• Communicate effectively, with the Kitchen Manager and all other related departments (Central and Cold Storage Warehouse, as well as Procurement Manager)
• Engages in open and clear communication with theProduction Manager, Bakery Coordinator and Commercial Manager to ensure smooth operation
• Assist the Kitchen Manager with the planning of the weekly schedule, ensuring proper staffing for stations.
• Follows administration procedures as outlined in the Company policies.

Educational Requirements & Experience
• Five (5) CXC O’Levels including Math and English
• Two years’ experience in a food service, commercial kitchens and/or production facility
• Customer Relations Diploma/Certificate
• Computer Literacy
• Knowledge of IR would be an asset
• Knowledge of IGA courses in the relevant field would also be an asset.
