Appliance Trader's Limited is actively seeking to hire a Junior Payroll Officer. He/She will be responsible for the control and payment of fortnightly paid salaries and wages for ATL staff members on the bi-weekly pay cycle.

Junior Payroll Officer
 
The incumbent will also provide support to the Payroll Officer with supporting calculations for the monthly payroll and provide relief in absence as necessary. Will also be responsible for ensuring all payroll related deductions and statutory obligations are settled on time.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the fortnightly payroll and submit it for checking by Wednesday/Thursday of payroll week.
  • Ensure payroll records are properly filed when the payroll run is completed.
  • Calculate commissions for monthly paid Technical Supervisors.
  • Prepare payroll deductions at the month end and submit to AP for posting, ensuring related GL accounts are reconciled.
  • Package & dispatch staff voluntary deduction payments.
  • Generate a fortnightly payroll journal from IPS and upload it to the General Ledger for review and posting.
  • Ensure payroll taxes are correctly posted, reconciled to payroll, and/or corrected as necessary.
  • Reconcile and manage staff loan balances and ensure balances are recovered.
  • Provide payroll details for staff request for NHT letters, P45, and other payroll-related correspondence.
  • Assist with the preparation of Personnel Salary budgets/annual increases by providing necessary payroll information.
  • Assume monthly payroll duties in emergency or other absence of the payroll Officer. 


Qualification & Experience:

  • ACCA Level 1 or BSc. in Accounting or related discipline.

2 years working experience in:

  • Payroll.
  • Reconciliation of Accounts.

  • Good time management skills and organized.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Computer literate.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confidentiality.
