Job Summary:

As an Electrical Engineer working for an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the implementation of electrical systems and projects. Your role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure in various projects, including power plants, industrial facilities, and infrastructure development. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, technicians, and project managers, to deliver electrical solutions that meet project objectives and adhere to industry standards.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Design and Analysis:

  • a. Develop detailed electrical designs, including schematics, layouts, and specifications, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • b. Analyze and evaluate electrical systems to ensure their functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.

2. Power System Planning and Coordination:

  • a. Plan and design power distribution systems and electrical networks for projects.
  • b. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems into overall project plans.

 3. Project Planning and Management:

  •  a. Collaborate with project teams to define electrical project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
  •  b. Create project schedules and timelines, ensuring adherence to project milestones.

4. Equipment Selection and Specifications:

  • a. Select appropriate electrical equipment and components based on project requirements and technical specifications.
  • b. Prepare equipment specifications and ensure compliance with industry standards.

5. Quality Control and Assurance:

  • a. Implement quality control measures to verify that electrical systems meet required standards and specifications.
  • b. Conduct inspections and tests during installation and commissioning.

 

6. Safety Compliance and Risk Management:

  • a. Ensure that electrical designs and installations comply with electrical safety regulations and industry standards.
  • b. Identify and address potential safety risks in electrical systems.

7. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • a. Prepare cost estimates for electrical projects and monitor project budgets.
  • b. Collaborate with the procurement team to source electrical materials and equipment.

8. Commissioning and Testing:

  • a. Oversee the commissioning of electrical systems and conduct performance testing.
  • b. Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments and improvements.

9. Documentation and Reporting:

  • a. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including electrical drawings, technical reports, and project records.
  • b. Prepare progress reports and present technical information to project stakeholders.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred. 
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably in an EPC or electrical engineering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, and electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, power systems, and electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
