This role offers an opportunity to establish and meet the highest international quality standards related to baggage handling and freight service delivery and preparation with emphasis on customer service, safety, and teamwork. The role plays an important part in the Ground Handling department by delivering value to our customers and stakeholders.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the safe and timely loading/off-loading of baggage, cargo co-mail, freight, mail, catering, commissary and other miscellaneous items in accordance with company procedures and airline standards.
- Conduct verification checks related to measure, weight and labels of all freight moving in and out of the warehouse.
- Ensure appropriate storage of freight, within the storage bins or other designated areas.
- Report accurately and comprehensively all equipment failures to Team Lead, immediately.
- Assist screening agents with the moving of freight during the screening process.
Qualifications and Experience needed:
- A minimum of three (3) CXC passes, including Mathematics and English Language
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position or in the Service Industry
- Basis knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- A valid driver’s licence is desired
- A valid Police Certificate of Character
