The Investigator is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting investigations related to allegations of misconduct involving the company employees, independents, and associates.

Employement type: 3 months contract (this may be extended)

Working hours:  Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm

Job Summary:

The Investigator is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting investigations related to allegations of misconduct involving the company employees, independents, and associates. This role requires close collaboration with internal divisions and external agencies to ensure thorough and timely investigations. The Investigator conducts interviews, gathers and analyzes evidence, and prepares comprehensive case reports. Additionally, the role involves participating in disciplinary hearings, court proceedings, and training initiatives while providing critical support to the Manager in resolving investigations and related matters.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of misconduct, including background checks of involved parties.
  • Collaborate with internal divisions and external agencies to coordinate investigative efforts, reviews, and analyses.
  • Ensure timely completion of investigations, maintaining detailed case reports and organized case files.
  • Conduct on-site and off-site interviews with complainants, employees, and witnesses, utilizing appropriate methods such as digital recordings and written transcriptions.
  • Coordinate with ongoing internal and external investigations to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and participate in disciplinary hearings and legal proceedings as required.
  • Develop and maintain accurate case status reports, tracking investigation progress on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of staff training 
  • Handle sensitive and complex matters, providing direct support to Internal Affairs leadership.
  • Provide detailed reports and recommendations to the Manager.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminal Justice, Investigations, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification in Forensic Accounting, Fraud Investigation, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in planning, conducting, and reviewing internal, corporate, or criminal investigations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in interviewing witnesses, gathering and analyzing evidence, and preparing investigative reports.
  • Background in law enforcement and/or criminal investigation.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employee rights, contractual obligations, due process, and legal procedures related to disciplinary hearings and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with high ethical standards.
