Internal Audit Officer

The Internal Audit Officer will be responsible for leading internal audit engagements that strengthen and enhance our internal control systems, whilst ensuring compliance with regulations, established policies and procedures.

The Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League is seeking a proactive, highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Audit Officer to join our team! In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will report to the Group Internal Audit Manager and be responsible for leading internal audit engagements that strengthen and enhance our internal control systems, whilst ensuring compliance with regulations, established policies and procedures, and driving continuous improvement across the Group of entities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional Certification in Auditing or Accounting from an accredited Tertiary Institution.
• Three (3) years’ experience working in a similar position in an Audit or Financial organization.

Knowledge, Skills, Competences, and Personal Attributes: -

• Sound knowledge of accounting, auditing practices, principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of Investment Management.
• Knowledge of IT Audits.
• Knowledge of Computer Aided Audit Tools (CAAT) such as TeamMate+.
• Must possess a high level of confidentiality, independence and objectivity.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent monitoring and investigative skills.
• Well-developed critical thinking skills and interviewing skills.
