Analyst (Investment Banking) (Investment Management)
Overview:
As an Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with executing private credit transactions, managing investment portfolios, and performing analysis across alternative investment assets.This role involves supporting the structuring and execution of investment opportunities, conducting financial analysis, evaluating portfolio performance, and collaborating with senior team members to develop investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Co-manage assets on the Sygnus alternative investment management platform, including private credit, project finance, real estate, private equity, and impact investments.
- Manage and execute underwriting and analysis of various alternative investment opportunities.
- Develop and evaluate financial models for debt, mezzanine, and preferred equity structures.
- Evaluate investment suitability of companies and projects, and assist with the annual portfolio review.
- Ensure timely analysis, structuring, and presentation of credit/financial solutions proposals.
- Manage and maintain the online credit management system.
- Monitor and execute treasury management activities, including deploying dry powder into new investments, portfolio liquidity strategies, asset-liability management, and hedging strategies.
- Assist with the origination, structuring, and syndication of investment banking and alternative investment products.
- Lead and present transactions to committees for approval.
- Provide analytical, market research, and support for the execution of capital markets transactions.
- Prepare and review materials for the alternative financing process, including collecting KYC/AML data.
- Develop relationships with new and existing clients to expand business.
- Perform due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of live transactions.
- Review legal documentation related to transactions to ensure successful completion.
Relevant Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or equivalent.
- MBA, MSC in Finance or similar qualitifications in a quantitiative discipline would be asset.
- CFA designation or in pursuit of the CFA designation.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in banking, finance or business, particularly on the quantitative area.
- Advanced reporting and data analytics knowledge and experience.
- Solid strategic thinker and problem solver.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, able to set priorities.
- Team player, with strong coaching, feedback and listening skills.
- Good understanding of private equity, real estate investments and private credit investment securities such as bilateral notes and debt structures.
- General understanding of international financial markets and the economies of the Caribbean.
- Excellent financial modelling experience and expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, organization and presentation skills.
- High degree of integrity, entrepreneurial spirit, innovative inclination, and strong work ethic.
