Internal Audit Coordinator

 The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the various policies and standard operating procedures relative to the operations of the Company are adhered to and to promptly report on any deviation in practice and recommend corrective measures. 

Key Functions and responsibilities: 

  •   Monitors the internal controls in the Company and works with management to improve processes which require attention.
  • Conducts audit checks for credit and stock management, including stock counts and credit audits island-wide to provide assurance on the accuracy and completeness of balances reported.
  • Conducts periodic audits on selected functions or processes with the objective of ensuring that all employees are conforming to the Company’s policies and procedures and to recommend process changes to improve controls and eliminate redundancies.
  • Ensures timely execution of audit plans and reporting of audit recommendations.
  • Prepares comprehensive audit work-papers to support recommendations and monitor such to ensure the timely progress of their implementation.
  • Coordinates periodic reporting requirements on the control environment.
  • Coordinates the risk management processes for the Company.
  • Conducts any ad hoc audit on other departments / depots and or special assignments as requested by the Finance Director.
  • Conduct periodic audits on selected functions or processes,  ensuring that all employees are conforming to the Company’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide assistance to external auditors. 

 

Frequent travel throughout the island is required. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • ACCA Level II or its equivalent.
  • 2-3 years experience as an auditor.
  • Sound knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
  • Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
