Overview: Our client is an I.T Solutions and Customer-Oriented Technology Group. With a wide range of services, they provide corporate clients with top-of-the-line products to provide tailor-made systems and tools for customers in different fields across Central America, Miami, Colombia & The Caribbean. Due to growth, they are seeking to employ a proven professional to work from the Barbados office with additional responsibility for an overseas operation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Define, Develop and manage both systems and physical Inventory Control, Planning, Shipment and Distribution of Equipment, Parts, Supplies and other products and/or materials demanded by the Group of Companies complying with importation and exportation rules and regulations (local and international).
Create integrated processes among Operating Companies for Purchasing, Logistics, and outside suppliers to execute the planning/replenishment process.
Lead re-engineering efforts as it relates to supply chain planning and execution of systems integration.
Effectively automate and implement the tools needed and implement planning, forecasting, distribution, shipping policies and procedures.
Manage and supervise staff tasked with creating material requirement plans and/or forecasts/distribution, shipping; establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning / forecasting/distribution/shipping.
Measure actual timely performance metrics against defined goals and present results to senior management.
Training of warehouse staff as needed.
Keep abreast of new logistics developments and implementation of planning and forecasting through systems automation.
Monitor and evaluate the performance and progress of warehouse staff locally and regionally.
Liaise closely with office staff to co-ordinate the arrival of products on site.
Liaise closely with Sales and Service to co-ordinate the ordering of products.
Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork to ensure set productivity targets are met.
Effectively communicate with all stakeholders (customers, staff, suppliers, directors etc.).
Coordinate the use of automated and computerized systems.
Plan future capacity requirements.
Implement and maintain procedures to ensure a high level of security at the warehouses (Locally & Regionally).
Monitor and manage Inventory levels by maintaining adequate stock levels to avoid 'stock outs' and emergency orders, while mitigating the risks of inventory write-offs due to aging.
Track and manages inventory age to avoid obsolescence.
Scrap analysis for Parts, Supplies and Equipment inventory, coordinate with sales department to deplete no commercialize items as well.
Company Reserve calculations and actions to take to deplete obsolete inventory,
Coordinate with sales department to sell all obsolete equipment inventory.
Responsible for inventory investment, holding cost and operational cost.
Report periodically to shareholders.
Claims management.
Track vendor discount requests and approvals.
DIF (Duties Insurance Freight) management.
Preparation of required month end reports and month end closure.
Solicit feedback from customers on the quality of service provided and take appropriate actions to improve service level.
Build positive relations with customers.
Coordinate and participate in quarterly stock counts as required.
Manage liaison with the customs department and their site staff.
Maintenance of the internal and external areas of the warehouse and for effective warehouse space utilization and management.
Requirements
A first-degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Management or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience and forma; training in managing people and inventory control
Experience in warehousing of stock.
Demonstrated computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access and Quick Books.
Minimum two years working in a management role of staff locally and regionally simultaneously.
