Job Summary:
Our client, a leading organization in the Retail and Distribution sector is seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Manager. This professional will oversee the organization’s technology infrastructure, ensuring that all I.T systems, networks, and data management solutions function efficiently and securely. This role reports directly to the General Manager, and involves managing I.T staff, maintaining hardware and software systems, supporting business applications specific to the industry, and driving digital transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technology Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee and maintain the company’s technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, hardware, and software.
- Ensure systems remain operational, secure, and aligned with the business requirements of the industry.
Business Application Support:
- Manage and support business-critical applications, including inventory management, logistics, fleet management, Covestone System, and Human Resources Information Systems.
- Ensure smooth application functionality to meet operational demands.
Network Security:
- Develop and implement robust IT security protocols to protect company data.
- Manage firewalls, anti-virus software, and encryption technologies to safeguard the organization's assets.
Data Management:
- Oversee data storage, backup, and recovery processes to maintain the integrity and availability of critical business data.
Innovation and Digital Transformation:
- Foster an environment that encourages the adoption of cutting-edge technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Drive technology initiatives that align with the company’s strategic goals, including process automation.
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Implement best practices for data governance and ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations.
- Stay current with industry requirements, including safety and environmental standards.
Technical Support:
- Provide timely technical support to staff across various departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
Budget and Procurement Management:
- Develop and manage the I.T department’s budget, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
- Oversee the procurement of hardware and software, ensuring timely delivery.
Vendor Management:
- Coordinate with external IT service providers, ensuring third-party solutions meet performance expectations and adhere to SLAs.
Staff Management and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop I.T staff to foster a high-performance culture.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify training needs, and provide guidance to enhance team skills.
- Ensure the development and execution of training plans for direct reports within required timelines.
Compliance and Disciplinary Actions:
- Initiate disciplinary processes as guided by HR to ensure accountability for infractions.
- Enforce company policies and standards in a timely manner.
Reporting:
- Prepare and submit reports as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an MBA is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in I.T management or a similar role.
- Certifications in I.T Management, business intelligence tools, and data analytics are preferred.
