INVESTMENT ANALYST

Guardian Life Limited invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Investment Analyst. This position forms part of the company’s Investment & Portfolio Management Department and supports the Management decision-making process.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilizing research and data modelling techniques to monitor, analyse and assess financial markets in order to make informed investment recommendations to the company;
• Preparing analyses of investment securities to assess suitability for inclusion in the company’s investment portfolio;
• Developing and creating models to aid in the forecasting of macro and micro economic variables;
• Providing consultative support to management/Investment Committee and Board regarding financial markets and investments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• A  degree in Finance, Economics,  Accounting or a related discipline
• The qualifications and integrity to be licensed by the Financial Services Commission
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Excellent  communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to meet tight deadlines

• Thorough knowledge of financial instruments and investment assessment and valuation techniques.
• Knowledge of 4 Series or other investment management software.
