The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, with specific experience in the financial technology industry, particularly in debit switch, electronic funds transfer and electronic cheque clearing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures high availability of the organization’s internal and revenue earning services/applications by the adherence to maintenance and improvement frameworks through the following:

The coordination of technology installations, upgrades and maintenance.

Selection and purchase of new and replacement of hardware and software as needed.

• Protects assets by implementing disaster recovery and back up procedures and information security and control structure.
• Develops and implements IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Initiates and leads ongoing risk analysis of all IT systems existing and new.
• Implements approved IT projects following internationally proven guidelines from inception to implementation.
• Work with stakeholders to gather, analyze and document business requirements for IT Projects
• Analyze and document current business processes and workflows and predict what changes in infrastructure will be necessary as the business grows.  This includes documentation from BRD to project management documentation.
• Ability to think outside the box and propose innovative solutions to meet business needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the IT team.
• Manages and mentors a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

Qualifications:

 University Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Information System Engineering and five (5) years experience in a similar position.

Proven experience and knowledge of technical and operational issues within the area of electronic payments.

Strong knowledge of debit switch systems and transaction processing will be an asset.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• PMP Certification, and/or ITIL Certification would be an asset.
• Must have the ability to understand the team’s challenges and develop solutions.
• Experience in various computer operating environments and operating systems (UNIX, Windows, Ethernet, Networking topologies etc.)
