                            Human Resources Officer

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The role as the Human Resources Officer is far from one-dimensional. The duties will undertake a wide range of Human Resources (HR) tasks for e.g.  organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and leaves and crafting HR policies. You will use the company’s Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. And you’ll also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. The human resources officer would be responsible for providing support in the various human resources functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring and employee counselling.

The human resources officer will facilitate new hires for the company. Duties will include advertising screening, recruiting, interviewing, on-board new employees and guide new employees through the process of deployment.

The HR officer shall work with the CEO and Management of the company in maintaining the employee performance management system.

 

 

REPORTS TO:

  • SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Plan, implement and manage the overall talent acquisition and performance HR strategy
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Create, implement, and manage onboarding plans
  • Perform duties such as develop job descriptions under the advice and guidance of line managers, job posting and screening.
  • Organize quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
  • Assist in performance management and employee evaluation
  • Plan and implement training programs
  • Maintaining employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Guide and work with the company in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations, ensure compliance with labour regulations

 

  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Gather and analyse data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

  • Minimum - Bachelor’s degree in human resources from an accredited University
  • 3 years of experience as an HR Officer or similar HR role
  • Additional HR education and certification in Industrial Relations-Trinidad & Tobago  
  • Excellent knowledge of various HR functions such as pay & benefits, recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, training & development etc.
  • Good understanding of Trinidad & Tobago Labour laws
  • Proficient in MS Office, prior experience with an HRMIS would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work under minimal supervision. Administrative experience, preferably in the field.

 

Other Requirements:

  • Travelling Position and must be able to visit staff at various branches of the company
  • Must be a competent licence driver
  • Must have access to working vehicle in good condition
