The HRO I assists with coaching and counselling with objectivity and professionalism in dealing with complex employee relations issues, regarding management of grievances, and other IR matters whilst ensuring compliance with the Authority’s polices and the Industrial Relations Act.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Studies or
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and a Certificate in Industrial Relations.
 
Knowledge Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of principles and practices of employee and industrial relations.
  • Knowledge of human resource practices.
 
Experience
  • Three (3) years of progressive industrial and employee relations experience in a unionised environment.
 
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and prepare fact sheets for employee grievances and disciplinary matters as required.
  • Provide advice and support to other departments on internal employee relations issues and industrial relations matters.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with representatives of recognised associations or government bodies on employee /industrial relations matters relating to the Authority.
  • Generate reports and analyses data to identify trends and suggest improvements.
  •  Assist with monitoring and promoting compliance with relevant labour laws, regulations and policies through education and awareness.
  • Assist with drafting Reports, Presentations, Notes for Board, Executive Management, Circulars, and other correspondence as required.
  • Assist in coordinating training activities, seminars and meetings, preparing agenda and documentation, confirming attendees, and reservation of facilities (i.e., room, equipment, stationery, refreshments, etc.) as required.
  • Assist in the creation of e-learning modules and online training content.
 
Any other equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
