Job Title: Head of Mobile Product  

 

 

Primary objective of the job:

 

The Head of Mobile oversees and lead the development, implementation, and management of consumer mobile services within the organization. This role involves creating and executing strategies to increase prepaid & postpaid subscriber acquisition and retention, drive revenue growth, optimize pricing plans, and enhance customer satisfaction.

 

The Head of Mobile Product is responsible for analyzing market trends, competitor offerings, and customer behavior to identify opportunities for product and service improvements, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of consumer mobile services in line with company objectives. This role is responsible for revenue generation and growth in all consumer mobile product lines.

 

 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

 Strategic Planning and Leadership  

  • Develop and implement the overall prepaid & postpaid strategy to drive growth, profitability, and market share. Provide leadership to the Mobile team and align their efforts with the company’s broader objectives.  

 

Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence 

  • Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats. Use insights to inform strategic decisions and product offerings.  

 

Product Development and Management 

  • Oversee the development of prepaid & postpaid products and services, ensuring they meet customer needs and market trends. This includes pricing, bundling, and promotional strategies.  Ensure that all mobile products are implemented and rolled out in accordance with the go to market plan. Responsible for the expansion and management of the prepaid topup network. 

 

Financial Accountability 

  • Manage the mobile business unit’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess performance and implement corrective actions as needed.  

 

Cross-functional Collaboration 

  • Work closely with other departments such as marketing, sales, finance, and operations to ensure cohesive execution of mobile strategies and initiatives.  

 

Regulatory Compliance 

  • Ensure that all prepaid & postpaid offerings comply with relevant regulations and guidelines set forth by telecommunications authorities.  

 

Innovation and Digital Transformation 

  • Lead efforts to innovate prepaid & postpaid offerings, integrating digital solutions and technologies to enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency.  

 

Performance Monitoring and Reporting 

  • Regularly assess the performance of mobile products and strategies, providing insightful reports to senior management and stakeholders.  

 

 

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • A Master's Degree in Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics or any other business-related field. The equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable for the position. 
  • Must have 10 years of experience working in a senior commercial position, within a fast-paced and highly competitive environment. The candidate must also have had substantial and successful experience leading a commercial team towards the achievement of objectives and targets. 
  • A suitable candidate will demonstrate an in-depth understanding of commercial and business practices and processes

 

Functional Skills:

 

  • Be ambitious, driven and passionate about all things related to digital apps and music, with an excellent comprehension of how the industry works and the key world players 
  • Have polished presentation, communication, and analytical skills  
  • Have an adaptive style in being able to communicate technical ideas in simple terms 
  • Have strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once
