The Roman Catholic (R.C.) Archdiocese of Port of Spain, is seeking to fill the position of Head, Funding & Development. This position is offered as a one (1) year renewable contract.

The Roman Catholic (R.C.) Archdiocese of Port of Spain, is seeking to fill the position of Head, Funding & Development. This position is offered as a one (1) year renewable contract.  

The successful candidate must be active in the R.C. Church, versed in Marketing, with strong fundraising experience, innovative, and connected with potential donors both locally and internationally.

POSITION OBJECTIVES

• To develop and implement fundraising strategies and assist in managing the overall operational, budgetary and financial objectives of the Archbishop’s Appeal. The Archbishop’s Appeal functions as the fundraising arm of the Archdiocese of Port of Spain to provide fundraising and administrative oversight of capital and community projects.
• To contribute to the achievement of the overall goals and objectives of the Archdiocese by displaying team effort and collaboration with the other departments of the Chancery in the interest of service to all areas of the Archdiocese.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• To develop Fundraising Strategies and promote and manage fundraising for projects assigned by the Archbishop.
• To plan and allocate resources and maintain work systems that enable optimum performance of the department in accordance with Archdiocesan policies and procedures.
• To track strategic goal accomplishment and to manage the preparation and maintenance of reports for Management Committees and the Finance Council as necessary or requested.
• To prepare and manage operating budgets for the department.
• To communicate with the Archbishop and other key contacts in the Archdiocese and cultivate and maintain relationships that would be advantageous to Fundraising efforts.
• To perform other related functions/responsibilities as assigned and provide other fundraising support/assistance as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• BSc Degree or equivalent in Business Management or related field
• At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar function
• Knowledge of the structure and culture of the R.C. Church
