Human Resource Manager

Blue Waters St. Lucia Ltd is inviting suitably qualified persons to join our team in the position of Human Resource Manager.

General Purpose

The Human Resource Manager is responsible for developing and implementing best practice HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business goals and foster a positive and productive work environment within the group of companies. He/she will manage the recruitment and selection function, compensation and benefits administration, employee relations and performance management, as well as ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management. The job incumbent will also collaborate with senior management and other key stakeholders to provide decision support and guidance on HR matters for the group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors the manpower plan/needs of the group.
  • Implements recruitment and selection strategies to ensure the right candidates are recruited in the right timeframe & a strong talent pipeline is built to satisfy current and future talent needs.
  • Oversees the design, implementation and maintenance of a Performance Management System that links strategic business objectives and employee’s day-to-day actions & tasks.
  • Leads competitive market research to maintain a company wage and salary structure, pay policies & pay practices that help recruit and retain superior staff. 
  • Leads the analysis, design and administration of employee benefits programs, inclusive of Group Health and Life Insurance plans and Employee Leave.
  • Develops and implements strategies to measure and enhance employee engagement. This includes designing and managing employee recognition initiatives, wellness programs and other activities aimed at creating a positive workplace climate.
  • Creates /Reviews/ Updates the group’s employees’ Policies and Best Practices to institute guidelines for appropriate workplace conduct and effective people management.
  • Serves as an in-house consultant to address employee concerns, disciplinary issues, and grievances to promote harmonious industrial & employee relations and to protect the company from litigious exposure.
  • Partners with Line Managers to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and legal requirements, using a variety of media.
  • Oversee and provide support in administration of the performance management system and processes, including setting performance goals, conducting performance appraisals, and providing feedback.
  • Monitor and evaluate employee performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for recognition or reward.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency and fairness in performance evaluations and decisions.
  • Identify training and development needs through skills assessments, performance reviews, and organizational goals analysis.
  • Develop and implement training programs to address identified needs and support employee growth and development.
  • Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling, venue arrangements, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices in training and development to continuously improve programs and initiatives.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficient in Office Technology, Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint Outlook
  • Working experience with HRIS would be considered an asset

Formal Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field
  • A master’s in business administration would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Labour Laws and Regulations.

Recommended Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in similar role
  • In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of key HR Practices, principles and government regulations.
