The Human Resources Lead oversees and contributes to HR projects, change management initiatives, and processes that drives the HR agenda and supports the business goals. This involves proactively engaging in ways for HR to add value while overseeing the day-to-day activities of the company.

Job Summary:

  • The Human Resources Lead oversees and contributes to HR projects, change management initiatives, and processes that drives the HR agenda and supports the business goals. This involves proactively engaging in ways for HR to add value while overseeing the day-to-day activities of the company.  The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the provisions of all benefit plans, other benefits; any employee programs and applicable guidelines to respond to day-to-day operational inquiries including those relating to compensation. 
  • Provide advice and services related to attracting, sourcing, evaluating, interviewing, recruiting and onboarding of appropriate talent to meet the organization’s human resources needs. 
  • Ensure compliance with Group’s human resource policies and procedures and relevant collective agreements. 
  • Provide advice and routine interpretations of employee relations policies, collective agreements, employment contracts, employer and employee rights, and relevant legislation. 
  • Provide guidance to managers on appropriate strategies to address employee conflict and poor performance. 
  • Oversee the initial stages of employee complaint and/or grievance process within established guidelines. 
  • Identify proactive solutions to HR issues, within the Group’s guidelines and legal requirements. 
  • Ensure staff results are achieved by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. 
  • Assess in tandem with line managers, company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees via an annual training plan. 
  • Communicate via appropriate methods to diverse levels of stakeholders ensuring that communication is tailored accordingly. 
  • Locate, collect, and maximise data from appropriate sources and prepare meaningful, concise reports and other documents that provide relevant information. 
  • Ensure all employee and relevant records and data management files are accurate and current at all times. 
  • Assist with various HR programs and implementation as required. 
  • Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures. 
  • Perform any other job duties as required by the job function.  

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology or Management from a recognised, accredited institution. 
  • Certification in Industrial Relations or Labour Law in Trinidad and Tobago. 
  • At least five (5) years human resources and industrial relations experience, two (2) of which should be at a supervisory level. 
  • Experience in using computerized HRIS software and MS Office Suite.
