The Caribbean Maritime University (CMU), the only specialized maritime university in the English-speaking Caribbean is inviting applications for the post of HR ERMS OFFICER (Level 4).

JOB SUMMARY

The HR ERMS Officer is responsible for providing support in the administration of the Enterprise Resource Management System (ERMS) and the Excel Database.  The position will generate analytical reports, analyse and maintain the integrity of the system and to ensure the delivery of effective day to day Human Resource services, maintaining efficient and effective information management.

Key Outputs:

  • HR ERMS records maintained in keeping with established HR records management and HR best practices;
  • Analytical reports prepared;
  • HR operations compliant with ISO standard;
  • Leave audits conducted in accordance with agreed timelines;
  • Reports are prepared according to prescribed formats and schedules;
  • Correspondence is prepared and circulated according to prescribed format and agreed timeframes;
  • Accountable for timely administration of duties and functions;
  • Must keep human resource information confidential.

 Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Maintains the ERMS and Excel Database to provide support for manpower planning activities and human resource management;
  • Provides advise to employees on the ERMS;
  • Identifies and reports processed for improvements;
  • Scans and uploads documents to the ERMS; 
  •  Assists with the preparation of HR analytical reports and statistical data to support the reporting requirements of the department;
  • Provides timely and accurate data to support management decision;
  • Provides superior customers service;
  • Computes leave benefits; updates and maintains records for all employees;
  • Ensures that proper procedures are followed in processing applications for Vacation Leave, Special Sick Leave, Maternity Leave, Departmental and Sick Leave;
  • Monitors attendance registers and prepares monthly attendance report;
  • Works closely with line managers to understand and implement policies appropriately and effectively;
  • Ensures the efficient and effective administration of the HR function, working with the team to ensure continuous improvement;
  • Assists with the preparation of contracts, letters and other relevant correspondence;
  • Ensures that all HR operations are compliant with ISO standards.

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • First Degree in Management Studies or Human Resource Management or Business Administration or other related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • At least three (3) years’ work experience in personnel administration, preferably in the Public Sector.
  • Experience using ERP system, Microsoft Suite.
  • Knowledge of HR principles and/or procedures.

  •  Proficient in the use of all Microsoft applications, including spreadsheets, word processing, database management, presentation and other graphics-related programmes
