HR BUSINESS PARTNER

Continental Baking Company Limited is seeking to recruit an HR Business Partner, who will assist with the management and execution of the human resource portfolio. He/she will work with operational leaders and the wider human resource team, to translate and align business needs with actionable human capital strategies and activities.

 

Core Functions

  • Work as a strategic partner, in collaboration with senior and operational managers, to develop and implement companywide strategies, which adds value and increase employee productivity and engagement.
  • Provide human resource guidance to the business, in all critical areas such as industrial relations, employee training and leadership development, benefits administration, rewards and recognition, workforce planning, change management, occupational health and safety and organizational structure.
  • Assist with succession planning, talent acquisition and retention initiatives, to maintain a consistent and qualified talent pool to serve the business requirements.
  • Monitor, measure and implement programmes to improve employee performance and engagement; ensure that these programs are effective, compliant and aligned with Company’s culture.
  • Utilize relevant human resource metrics and analytics, to present and track key areas of HR data, to drive data driven decision-making and solve business problems.
  • Assist with policy creation, implementation and maintenance, ensuring adherence to benchmarked industry standards and legal regulations.  
  • Provide assistance with the management of the HR team, ensuring that service levels are maintained at a consistently high standard to all stakeholders and all transactional HR activities are executed effectively, efficiently and within established Company policies and guidelines.

  

Minimum Requirement:  Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • First Degree in Human Resource Management, Performance Management, Management Studies or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a senior position within an HR department of a company, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • HR certification would be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of Jamaica Labour Laws and other relevant regulations and government agencies.
  • Expert knowledge of mediation, conflict resolution techniques and disciplinary procedures and processes.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Excellent human relations, communication, time management, organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Highly professional, confidential, ethical and of integrity.
  • May be required to work on weekends and public holidays, to meet operational demands.
