Small Hotel in Kingston Jamaica seeks to hire suitable candidates to fill the position of Receptionist/ PBX Operator
HOTEL RECEPTIONIST/ PBX OPERATOR
JOB SUMMARY
To provide a pleasant and reassuring experience in attending to calls to the hotel and to communicate in a professional and courteous manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Pleasantly answer multi-line telephone system, screen and transfer calls in accordance with the hotel’s procedures.
• Receive calls, relay and record messages when applicable.
• Ensure privacy policy is maintained with all guests’ information
• Greet guests/persons entering the hotel and direct guest towards their destination
• Provide general and administrative support
• Typing, filing and faxing as applicable
• Notify Duty Mangers of any overnight deliveries
• Maintain company extension lists and keep work area clean and tidy
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
• Carefully handle all telephone equipment and maintain proper telephone handling procedure set by the hotel
• Report all telephone/PBX related problems immediately to your supervisor
• Perform other duties consistent with your job and the objectives of the department.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity
• Certificate/Diploma in telephone operating or related field an asset
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industry
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to be calm and efficient under pressure
