The Terra Nova All Suite Hotel invites qualified applicants to fill the following positions: - Senior Accounting Officer - Maintenance Technician

ACCOUNTING OFFICER

 

Duties and Rresponsibilites:

  • Reconcile Bank Accounts
  • Reconcile Cash Accounts
  • Reconcile Intercompany Accounts
  • Reconcile Accounts Payables to Vendor Statement
  • Supervise Accounts Payable Clerk
  • Prepare Monthly Schedules
  • Assist with Preparing Annual Budget
  • Assist with Preparation of Monthly Financial Statements
  • File Monthly Statutory and GCT Returns
  • Validate Accounts Payable Entries

 Qualification:

  • At least 3 years experience in accounting
  • Mature professional
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office, Accpacc/Sage, Great Plains
  • At least ACCA Level 2 or Degree

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair and services of general building and grounds at the hotel, including electrical and plumbing.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Must be always attentive, courteous and efficient in the dealings with the clients, guests, managers and colleagues.
  • Comply at all times with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
  • To do daily technical inspection rounds and checks on the proper functioning of installations.
  • Conduct corrective service and repair / restoration works where and when necessary.
  • Manage an inventory record of parts and supplies, tools and equipment;
  • Perform general maintenance work;
  • Operates and perform periodical checks on the maintenance equipment, water pressure, generator set.
  • Highlight on any other matters that needs future upgrading work;
  • Perform other duties as requested

Job Requirements

  •  A high school certificate or the equivalent is required.
  • Technical skills certificate
  • At least 2 years electrical experience
  • Plumbing or other maintenance related certification, an asset
  • Ability to work independently
  • Honest, Reliable, Responsible, Efficient and Professional at all times.
  • Able to carry out multitask and work independently with minimum supervision
  • Applicants must be willing to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays;
  • Skills in plumbing, air-conditioning servicing and troubleshooting, electrical, basic carpentry is an advantage
