The Opportunity
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the Group Chief Marketing and Sales Officer (GCMSO) is responsible for the strategic direction of the Marketing and Sales functions across all JN Group entities. As the organization’s senior-most marketing and sales leader, the incumbent is accountable for creating and shaping an encompassing One JN culture incorporating sales forecasting , sales promotion, customer analysis, product design aligning sales and marketing objectives with JN Group and member companies’ business strategies.
This is achieved through establishing an effective integrated approach to marketing and sales across the JN Group of companies which operate in diverse industries including banking and finance, investment, general and life insurance, remittance, technology, fleet, and property management services. The (GCMSO) is the accountable officer responsible for the representation and positioning of the JN Group and member companies’ brands. The role acts as a strategic advisor and collaborator, working closely with each company within the Group, cross-functional teams such as, Customer Experience, Communications, IT, and Operations to foster integration and drive business growth through cohesive marketing and sales initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities of the role include the following:
- Align the marketing and sales objectives with the Group’s strategic pillars through active participation in strategic planning, marketing and sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting.
- Develop and execute in association with each member company an integrated JN Group marketing and sales strategy and annual marketing and sales plans
- Create compelling campaigns that generate leads and boost conversions.
- Use consumer insight data to identify product development needs, guide the development of product concepts and implementation of appropriate products and services to optimize marketing and sales
- Establish and track appropriate sales and marketing KPI’s and metrics that assess ROI and prepare reports that provide insights on the effectiveness of interventions and for strategic decision-making.
- Establish the value proposition of products to frontline teams and ensure work processes are in place to support the selling process.
- Manage creative production of any internal and external resources and marketing partners such as advertising agencies, digital marketing firms and production companies.
- Develop and manage brand standards and usage guidelines for accessing the Bank’s brand assets.
- Embody and forge the One JN Culture anchored on our mantra of “helping you find a way” in sales and marking campaigns
- Ensure an effective sales organization design, including sales roles and specifications, sales channel design, and sales resource deployment
- Ensure thorough prospecting and lead qualification process for the JN Group of companies
- Develop metrics inclusive of activity based sales targets, minimum performance standards and processes related to sales cycle, cross selling, up selling win percentages, pipeline quotas, and customer demonstrations in order to drive JN Group member companies towards their sales targets.
- Oversee the sales tracking and reporting operations of the Group through the Sales Support unit.
- Develop an efficient and high-performing sales organization to ensure an increase in the uptake of customers using JN member company offerings, that are among the best-in-class industry standards

The ideal candidate will be:

- Knowledge of consumer behaviour patterns
- Ability to analyse data and utilize the data to create effective Marketing and Promotions
- Entrepreneurial, with an excellent understanding of the risk/reward relationship and the ability to leverage knowledge of industry trends and regulatory frameworks to assess and anticipate members’ needs.
- Adept at building and motivating high-performing teams, with first class customer service delivery ingrained in the company culture.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in business administration, Management Studies Marketing, Sales, Consumer Psychology/ Sociology or related discipline.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in management studies, Business Administration Sales or related discipline and professional certification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK)
- Specialized training in Advertising, Media Relations, Marker Research or Consumer Insights desirable
- Five (5) years' experience in a senior management position with a strong background in brand, marketing, or communications product management for a Group of companies in diverse industries to include fast moving consumer good, retail products or financial services.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- Demonstrated idea generation skills with a track record of success in designing effective marketing and sales campaigns which achieve desired ROI
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver high-level business presentations and facilitate stakeholder meetings.
- Proficiency in the use of CRM software and marketing and sales automation tools
- Understanding of digital marketing platforms and techniques, including social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO
- Data analysis and interpretation capabilities
- Ability to determine and conduct market research and utilize findings to design products and sales and marketing campaigns
- Ability to lead, motivate and inspire high performing work teams
- Well-honed negotiating and change management skills
