Job Description/Responsibilities

Our client, a well-established insurance brokerage firm, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead their operations, marketing, and service delivery initiatives. This role is pivotal in driving revenue growth, improving operational efficiencies, and strengthening customer relationships to position our client among the market leaders in the broking industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic leadership, business development, and team management within the insurance sector. This is a senior management position requiring an innovative and proactive approach to achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue Growth & Business Development:

• Drive a minimum of 10% annual sales income growth (excluding inflation and generic market growth).

• Develop and execute marketing strategies to expand the client base and maintain customer loyalty.

• Identify new business opportunities through market intelligence and economic trend analysis.

• Strengthen brand recognition and position the company as a top-tier insurance brokerage.

 

Operational & Service Delivery Excellence:

• Improve overall operational efficiencies to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Establish performance standards and implement monitoring systems for continuous improvement.

• Optimize relationships with insurers and other key stakeholders to secure favorable terms.

• Ensure compliance with statutory and IFRS requirements while safeguarding corporate and client information.

 

Leadership & Team Management:

• Lead and motivate the Marketing and Operations teams to drive business success.

• Improve staff competency, performance, and engagement through training and development.

• Implement HR strategies to address grievances and improve workplace productivity.

• Foster a high-performance culture through goal setting, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Financial & Administrative Oversight:

• Oversee underwriting, negotiation, and financial arrangements with insurers and clients.

• Approve emergency expenditures within authorized limits and recommend financial decisions to management.

• Provide strategic recommendations on supplier changes, administrative policies, and recruitment.

 

Job Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Management, Insurance, Economics, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional certification in Insurance/Risk Management (e.g., ACII, FCII, AIIC, CPCU) is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years in a senior management role within the insurance industry.

• Proven ability to lead and supervise management-level personnel. Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance-related software. • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to innovate, drive change, and manage competitive business environments.

• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.

 

Additional Requirements: •

Valid driver’s license and ownership of a reliable vehicle.

• Ability to obtain FSC Licensing and comply with industry regulations.

• Satisfactory references, police report, and credit history.
