The General Assistant is mainly responsible providing food and beverage service to canteens and events ensuring quality customer service and ensuring that all company equipment are cleaned, adhering to all HACCP principles.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ensures client service meets company standards and customer satisfaction is maintained and continuously improved. 
  2. Handles all relevant queries from customers with professionalism in accordance to the company’s standards.
  3. Perform cashing activities where required.
  4. Preparation of food and beverage stations and dining areas for canteens and events.  Food and beverage service and stocking of storage areas.
  5. Service of food at the canteen or at assigned functions or events at other locations.
  6. General cleaning of work areas as instructed by relevant supervisor.
  7. Boxing out of meals for the Clients and canteens
  8. Assisting Production in meal preparations.
  9. Other duties as required by management.
Additional functions to be performed as needed:
  1. Minimizes waste and ensures all gets recorded.
  2. Follow all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings.
  3. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations. Develop, implement, and maintain safety and quality assurance protocols. 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Certification in Food & Beverage service and safety
  • Practical knowledge of food preparation, garnishing and event coordination
  • 5 O’ level passes inclusive of Mathematics and English
  • Safety and security—the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Company’s policy related to the production and delivery of food items.  
  • Requires a reasonable command of the English language
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to build successful and long-term relationships
  • Quality focus—the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness within clear time frames.
  • Team player – demonstrates an ability to integrate well with teams members and to support other members of the team when needed.
  • Strong customer service orientation / focus.
  • Problem solving—the individual identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
Physical requirements
The role is required to spend extensive periods of time sitting behind a desk, it is recommendable to take a few breaks throughout the day by standing or exercising from time to time.
Travel requirements
The position requires limited occasional domestic travelling. The role requires moving between business locations locally for example between the office and locations located within the airport and surroundings.
