GROUP CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

As the Group Chief Accountant, you will report directly to the General Manager, Finance.  You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accounting function across multiple entities with our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting; implementing standardized accounting practices and providing strategic financial guidance to the General Manager.  Your role will involve collaborating with subsidiary accountants and ensuring compliance with regulatory organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. 1.   Financial Reporting:

• Overseeing the accounting operations of the Company, ensuring financial information is updated with completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
• Overseeing the preparation of monthly financial accounts or the Company’s entities, including balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to senior management and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely account and credit card reconciliation.

1. 2.   Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
• Evaluate financial performance against budget targets and identify areas for improvement monthly.

1. 3.   Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
• Oversee the preparation of tax returns, GCT and statutory returns.
• Lead on the audits of all entities and coordinate with external auditors during audits.

1. 4.   Team Leadership & Development:

• Provide direction, training and mentoring to the team.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.

1. 5.   Operational Efficiency:

• Provide Oversight to Procurement and Fleet Department.
• Prepare managers’ payroll.
• Treasury management
• Lead on lease negotiations

 Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

•  ACCA or part ACCA qualified.
• Proven experience 5-7 years’ in a senior accounting or finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAGE/ACCPAC); advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly and concisely.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Detailed-orientated with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
