Our client is seeking a dependable and skilled Forklift Operator to join their team.

Role Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move materials, ensuring accurate inventory management, and preparing items for shipment. Additionally, this role involves performing routine equipment checks and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety and that complies with the Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies.
  • Manoeuvres forklift in a safe manner while loading and unloading items to prevent damage to products, materials, items or equipment.
  • Delivers products from the warehouse to the ramp for truck(s) deliveries by instruction of a Supervisor.
  • Ensures proper stock rotation using First In, First Out policy.
  • Ensures efficient and timely clearance of the product from the production area(s).
  • Reports quality variances to the Supervisor including all damaged products. 
  • Inspects and perform minor checks on forklift to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order. Report faults to the relevant authority.
  • Assists with all inventory movement, including inventory control, cycle counts, location control and audits.
  • Assists in other reasonable job-related activities that may arise in periods of non-production.

 

Qualifications:

  • Four (4) CXC subjects or equivalent including Mathematics and English Language PLUS
  • Two (2) or more years working experience in a related position in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Must possess a valid Forklift Operator license with proven practical experience.
  • Certification in Forklift Operator/ Industrial Mechatronics-Mechanical Engineering NVQ Level 3/ Basic Mechanical Engineering/ Auto-Mechanics would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of warehousing practices and safe storing of products.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
