Financial Controller (Contract)

We are seeking a Financial Controller for a local, in-office, contract interim role. This position involves overseeing daily accounting operations, managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing audit responsibilities.

Financial Controller (Contract) 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports
• Manage and streamline daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger, within a highly manual environment
• Oversee and coordinate both internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures
• Analyze financial data for trends and improvements
• Lead and train the accounting team
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial planning
• Evaluate and implement accounting software and systems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA, CPA, or CMA certification preferred
• Minimum of 7 years experience in accounting with 3 years managing a General Accounting/Accountant portfolio
• Experience in a similar role such as Financial Controller, Finance Mananger CFO is ideal 
• Experience in revenue and lease accounting is essential
• Experience in the IT and Cybersecurity industry is a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
• Hands-on experience in a highly manual environmemt is ideal 
• Legal authorization to work in Trinidad and Tobago
• Available to work full-time Monday through Friday
