Island Routes is seeking to hire an experienced Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations and drive strategic financial planning for our organization.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments. This role involves managing the finance team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insights that support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Streamline accounting processes and implement robust internal controls to enhance operational efficiency and to mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Serve as a key liaison during internal and external auditsproviding necessary documentation and insights to auditors. 

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and ad hoc reports, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making.
• Manage timely resolutions of financial issues, maintaining a focus on accuracy and reliability.

Financial Operations Management:

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Monitor budget performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Approve payment vouchers in collaboration with the Financial Controller, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.  

   Financial Leadership and Development:

•  Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional  development.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and recognize team achievements through awards and incentives.
•  Participate in the recruitment process, selecting top talent to strengthen the team.
•  Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, contributing to long-term planning and decision-making. 

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and pursuing Postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSc) or professional certifications (CA, CMA).
• 3-5 years relevant experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years at a Senior Accountant level.
• Proven supervisory experience, demonstrating the ability to manage and mentor junior staff within the finance department.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with an ERP system.
• Strong understanding of financial regulations and reporting standards.
