The management accountant will specialise in cost and management accounting as a critical contributor to Spike Industries Ltd.’s financial management.

Spike Industries Limited seeks a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join our team. The Management Accountant will play a critical role in the day-to-day production accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting, supporting the strategic decision-making processes for the operations team.

The role involves product costing, financial analysis, pricing strategies, inventory and fixed asset management, production accounting, capital investment analysis, and overall support for strategic decision-making to optimise our beverage manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate budgets and forecasts to assist in strategic planning.
  • Manage and analyse production costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee inventory accounting and management, ensuring accurate stock valuation.
  • Manage fixed assets, including asset recording, valuation, and depreciation.
  • Handle production accounting, including cost allocation and variance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain performance reports, focusing on KPIs and variance analysis.
  • Assist in developing and evaluating pricing strategies for the company's products.
  • Conduct financial analysis for potential investments and capital projects.
  • Work with the Finance and Operations Team to maintain strong internal controls.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency in financial operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for financial insights and decision support.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other financial regulations.
  • Act as a SAGE Superuser, providing support and training on accounting software.
  • Assist the Financial Accountant in coordinating audits and ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end closing procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company's financial operations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • ACCA level 2 or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in management accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Robust financial analysis, budgeting, cost accounting, and inventory management knowledge.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and knowledge of financial regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
