Job Title: Facilities Manager

Location: Mount Pleasant Academy Limited (MPAL), Runaway Bay, St. Ann

Job Summary: The Facilities Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the efficient and effective management of all physical facilities and operational departments for Mount Pleasant Academy Limited (MPAL). This position ensures a safe, functional, and conducive environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role encompasses oversight of building maintenance, security and safety, grounds and maintenance departments, and well management, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful individual.

Key Responsibilities: 

Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all buildings, grounds, and equipment o Oversee and manage all repair and renovation projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.

Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services. 

Develop and implement a comprehensive security plan to protect students, staff, and school property. 

Develop and implement emergency response plans for various scenarios, including natural disasters, fires, and security breaches.

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and conduct regular safety inspections. 

Manage fire safety equipment and ensure all staff are trained in fire safety procedures. 

Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for all football fields, including mowing, fertilizing, irrigation, aeration, and line marking. 

Ensure fields and grounds are maintained to the highest standards of safety and playability, adhering to relevant sporting regulations. 

Supervise and manage the maintenance department staff, including plumbers, electricians, and other tradespeople.  Oversee the maintenance and operation of all water wells and associated systems. 

Ensure the consistent and reliable supply of potable water across all schools. 

Develop and implement water conservation strategies.

Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficient resource allocation.

Qualifications:

 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.

 Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facilities management, preferably in an educational or sports environment.

 Proven experience in managing multiple departments and projects simultaneously.

 Strong knowledge of building maintenance and utilities management.

 Knowledge of well management and water systems.

 Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

 Knowledge of Jamaican building codes and regulations.

 Valid Jamaican driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

 Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Working Conditions:

 This position may require working outside of regular school hours, including evenings and weekends.

 The Facilities Manager may be required to work in various weather conditions.

 The position involves physical activity, including walking, climbing, and lifting.

This position is residential, therefore, the selected candidate will be required to live on campus.
