The Welder is responsible for operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to join and or cut metal segments using processes such as: GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, and OFC.
Key Duties:
- Set up and operate welding equipment such as GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, and OFC to join or repair metal parts.
- Read and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Select correct electrodes and rods as required by Welding Procedure Specification
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment, e.g. Oxy-Fuel and Plasma Cutting process.
- Assist with the maintenance and minor repair of welding and cutting equipment.
- Use portable grinder, hand file, and/or scraper to clean welds during and after welding.
- Perform preliminary visual inspection on completed welds.
- Read and interpret welding symbols on fabrication drawings.
- Proficient in SMAW and FCAW processes.
- Assist with general pipe and structural fabrication.
- Support (not only limited to welding activities) Field Construction team in daily activities as required.
- Perform Housekeeping activities as required.
- Perform and participate in valid risk assessment on all hot works activities.
- Carry out relevant instructions in a safe manner.
- Performs all other related job functions as required.
