Executive Manager, Security (Caribbean Airlines)

Our client, Caribbean Airlines Limited is seeking to fill the position of Executive Manager, Security.

This position is open to CARICOM nationals.

JOB SUMMARY

The Executive Manager, Security will report to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).  The incumbent will champion a robust and proactive security posture for Caribbean Airlines, safeguarding employees, passengers, assets, and operations across the entire network in accordance with International Civil Aviation requirements, TTCAA requirements, and Caribbean Airline’s policies and procedures. The incumbent will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive security strategies that mitigate risks, comply with international regulations, and foster a culture of security and vigilance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Strategic Security Leadership:
  • Develop and implement strategic security plans aligned with the company's business objectives and risk assessments.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of security technologies and infrastructure, including surveillance systems, access control, biometrics, and other security solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of crisis management plans and incident response procedures.
  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to the Senior Manager, Security and other security personnel.
• Regulatory Compliance and Oversight:
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant ICAO, TTCAA, and international security regulations.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and government authorities.
  • Develop and implement internal audit programs to assess security compliance.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and threat analyses to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Performance Management and Risk Mitigation:
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of security programs and procedures.
  • Implement corrective actions to address identified non-compliances and security gaps.
  • Oversee incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Lead training and development programs for security personnel to ensure proficiency and best practices.
• Team Leadership and Management:
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the Senior Manager, Security and other security personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
  • Effectively manage the performance and development of team members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across departments.
• External Relations and Communication:
  • Represent Caribbean Airlines at industry forums and conferences on security matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, industry partners, and airport authorities.
  • Effectively communicate security policies, procedures, and risks to both internal and external audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or Business Management. A Master’s Degree in Security Management, Fraud Prevention, Aviation Security, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in security management, five (5) of which must be in a senior leadership position.
• A proven track record of developing and implementing successful security strategies and extensive experience in managing and motivating security teams.
